Charas worth Rs 15 lakh seized in Anand by NCB sleuths

Anand, Mar 17 (UNI) Four persons were arrested near Samrath Chokhadi in Anand and Charas valued at Rs 15 lakh in the international market was seized from them last night, Narocotic Control bureau Officer P N Sarvaya here today said.

Mr Sarvaya said that as per a tip off that a consignment of contraband drugs from Jammu and Kashmir will land in Anand hence we kept a strict vigil on this area since March 11. We had spotted a Indica car with two occupants reached near Hotel Sabarath in Anand last night from there they went into an interior alongwith two other persons joined them on a scoooter.

NCB sleuths followed them and nabbed all the four alongwith Charas, three mobiles and cash of Rs 31,700. The Indica Car bearing a Haryana Registration used for transportation of the drugs and scooter was also seized by the officers.

The arrested persons were identified as Imran and Zakir, who had carried the drugs, said to be from Ahmedabad and Sailesh alias Mistry and Rajnikant Kachya Patel, their local agent.

However, the NCB officer said that one of the arrested person Rajnikant Patel complaint to the officers that he is facing some breathing problem in which the officers rushed him to Anand Nagar Municipal Hospital where he died after admission in the night itself.
