Centre sanctions Rs 54 crore for HP under RGNDWM
Shimla, Mar 17 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned an additional sum of Rs 54.09 crore to Himachal Pradesh under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission and Accelerated Rural Water Supply Scheme during this financial year, State IPH Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today said.
The Centre has also released the first and second installment of Rs 96.63 crore for this financial year under the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Scheme, he said after his meeting with Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh at New Delhi.
Mr Thakur said the Himachal Pradesh Government has also sent the utilisation certificate of Rs 90 crore on February one, this year besides another utilisation certificate pertaining to state expenditure of Rs 122.85 crore on this sector during the year.
The union minister has also consented to convene the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on rural development here during the first and second week of June, he said.
He also called upon the Centre to include Shimla district in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NGRES), while appreciating its gesture for including Mandi and Kangra districts in the scheme from this year.
