Bus set ablaze by college students, 6 injured
Varanasi, Mar 17 (UNI) Six passengers were injured when students of Jagatpur Degree College here today went on rampage setting ablaze an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus.
Police said here the students were agitating against the shifting of their examination centre to Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College in Mughalsarai (Chandauli) for the last three days.
They stopped an Azamgarh-Allahabad UPSRTC bus and then threw bricks on the bus resulting in injuries to at least six passengers.
After askin the passengers to get down the students set ablaze the bus.
Getting information of the incident, police rushed to the spot and used force to disperse the angry mob. The injured passengers, meanwhile, were administered primary treatment at a private hospital. Police has been deployed in the area to deal with any eventuality.
