BJP sure on smooth transfer of power in K'taka : Yediyurappa
New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka is sure of a smooth transfer of power to the party from Janata Dal (Secular), its coalition partner, state Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said here today.
Mr Yediyurappa, who met several top BJP leaders including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and party president Rajnath Singh to apprise them about the political developments and about his budget presentation in the Karnataka Assembly, told newspersons the JD(S) too wanted the coalition to last its full term and live upto the expectations of the people.
He said the BJP had no doubts or confusion about the statement of JD(S) president and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda that he did not meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Moreover there was a 'surprising change' in his attitude about the JD (S)-BJP coalition and he certainly wanted the government to last its full term, he said.
' ''He is convinced about the ability of the coalition to perform,'' he said.
He said political issues did figure durinh his meetrings with Mr Vajpayee and Mr Singh Under the agreement between the two parties, the JD(S) will hand over the chief ministership to the BJP on the completion of 20 months.
Mr Singh accepted the invitation of Karnataka BJP's fortnight long ''Vikas Yatre'' starting from Davanagere on April nine and which will terminate at Udupi on April 25.
