3 ultras including one involved in killing of 20 policemen caught
Ranchi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Jharkhand police arrested three hardcore CPI (Maoist) ultras, including one involved in killing of 20 police personnel, in separate raids carried out in the state today.
Of the three ultras, two were caught in Bokaro and the rest was arrested in Latehar district.
A report from Bokaro quoted Superintendeent of Police Priya Dubey as saying that Chandu Majhi alias Ramchandra Majhi, nabbed at Bokaro's Nawadih, was involved in last year's land mines explosion that left 15 police personnel killed.
Besides, he was involved in attack on Bokaro-Jharia police outpost under Dugda police station in which three personnel from CISF and two from state police were killed.
Ms Dubey said the CPI (Maoist) ultra was part of another murder of one Subodh Ravidas and his wife this year at Bishnupur area on the accusation of their being police informers.
The Bokaro SP said the other ultra of the outfit, Anand Mahto was nabbed at Kasmar. He was involved in various naxalite strikes in bordering region and in neighbouring West Bengal.
Another report from Latehar said, security forces arrested a self-styled zonal commander at Monika area in the district.
Superintendent of Police Ravikant Dhan said arrested Kaltu Singh was involved in various crimes including explosion at Kaed besides derailing of a goods train at Hehegrga. Three police personnel were killed in explosion at Kaed.
