Woman claims to be Jagjivan's wife, takes away his body

Morena, MP, Mar 16 (UNI) A woman, who claimed to be the wife of dacoit Jagjivan Parihar, who was killed in an encounter with police along with six other dacoits yesterday, took away the bodies of Jagjivan, his brother Param Singh and his nephew, police said today.

Bhind's Pura village-resident Guddi Bai (34) reached the mortuary this afternoon to claim the dead bodies. Police handed over the bodies to Guddi Bai. A police guard was sent along with the bodies to Garhi Hariksha village, where the last rites will be performed.

Guddi Bai claimed that she married to Jagjivan 20 years ago in Uttar Pradesh's Charaula village. However, she had severed her relationship with him when he became a dacoit.

She said she heard about Jagjivan's death over television yesterday.

At present, she is residing with her three children Satyam (10), Shivam (8) and Sundaram (5) in Shivpuri, where she ekes out her living by working as a labourer.

Guddi Bai last met Jagjivan 5 years back.
