Smugglers causes injury to forest officer
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 16 (UNI) Smugglers today caused a serious injury to a forest officer in this district today.
Police said Madhava Reddy, Section Officer of Kamalapur in Bhoopalalli forest range, received information that the smugglers were taking valuable teakwood in three bullock carts from Utlavalli forests in Mahadevpur Mandal of the neighbouring Karimnagar district.
When Mr Reddy went with the team to intercept the smugglers, he was attacked with stones and axes by the smugglers, before escaping from the spot.
Mr Reddy was admitted to the MGM hospital here, police added.
