Jaipur, Mar 16 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today assured the Vidhan Sabha the government will leave no stone unturned to help the rain-hit farmers.

The House proceedings today began after statements by Mrs Raje and Opposition leader Ram Narain Choudhary. Earlier, Speaker Sumitra Singh had adjourned the House twice.

CPM legislator Amraram and Bahujan Samaj Party and Lok Jan Shakti party MLAs walked out of the House as they were not given the chance to speak about the farmers affected by hailstorm.

Mrs Raje said the state government has a task to help the suffering farmers and knows its duty well. She said at least Rs 19 crores have already been given to the farmers as interim relief.

Opposition leader Mr Chaudhary said the Opposition had to resort to protest tactics in the House to direct the state government's attention towards such a disaster and the need for immediate relief.

The Speaker urged Congress legislators Manglaram Godara and Srigopal Baheti to break their indefinite fasting, sitting in the well of the House.

Congress leaders Shiv Charan Mathur and Dr B D Kalla urged the legislators to break their fast.
