Opp members stage walk out on residential school issue
Mumbai, Mar 16 (UNI) Members of the opposition today staged a walk out in Legislative Council, alleging the government was doing hardly anything on the issue of teachers of residential schools in the State.
However, school education minister Vasant Purke assured the house that it has set up a committee to look into the matter.
The issue was raised by leader of the opposition Pandurang Phundkar during question hour and said the teachers are paid less than Rs 1,000 per month and their demand is pending for the last seven years.
However, the delay in taking up their demand was severely criticised by the opposition, who later staged a walk out.
