Mulayam seeks to comfort disgruntled Beni
Lucknow, Mar 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said disgruntled Samajwadi Party general secretary and Lok Sabha member Beni Prasad Verma will remain in the party and his annoyance would be sorted out soon.
''There is no question of Mr Verma forming a new party and everything will be settled soon,'' he assured.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Yadav said ''I know him well, as he had announced formation of a new party several times earlier.'' ''Mr Verma is a dedicated senior leader of the party and he will continue to be so in future,'' he observed.
Earlier Mr Verma, peeved with the distribution of party tickets, had announced to form a new political outfit -- Samajwadi Kranti Dal -- in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, in a major boost to SP, several Congress and BJP leaders from Allahabad joined the party in the CM's presence.
Those who joined SP include Congress leader and former MLA Satish Jaiswal, Swami Charan Sahu and Suraj Jaiswal and BJP leader Dr Santosh Jain.
