Mata donates Rs 200 cr project to curb farmers suicide
Mumbai, Mar 16 (UNI) Mata Amritanandamayi Math will undertake a Rs 200 crore project to tackle the problem of suicides by farmers of Maharashra, Kerala and other States.
Mata Amritanandamayi held a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh yesterday and discussed the issue of suicides by farmers from Vidarbha.
After the meeting, she announced the donation for the project.
However, Mr Deshmukh told her the problem of farmers are under check with steps taken by State the and Central government.
Mata Amritanandamayi appreciated the efforts made by the State government to deal with the problem of farmers suicide.
