Infant's body found on Cauvery banks

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Mar 16 (UNI) The body of an infant boy was found wrapped in a dhoti on the banks of River Cauvery here today.

According to police, people who went to bathe in the river grew suspicious on seeing a cloth bundle kept on the steps of the Irwin Bridge across the river and informed the police.

Police reached the spot and recovered the body of a just-born boy from the bundle.

Investigation is underway to track the parents.
