New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) A Chinese official today said it expects the trade surplus between the two countries to reach six billion dollar with the increasing volumes of trade in small and medium enterprises.

''Bilateral trade between the two countries is increasing, specially imports by India, which drew four billion dollars last year and this year we expect it to go up to six billion dollars,'' Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province Deputy Director General Li Jiming told UNI here today.

India imports phosphate fertilizers, heavy machineries and home appliances from China and exports cotton, iron ore, copper and tin, etc at a large number.

To further strengthen the Indo-China cross border trade, investment, economic and technical cooperation, Kunming province of South-West China is organising a commodities fair from June 6-10, 2007.

The event, '15th China Kunming Commodities fair', was announced by India China Economic and Cultural Council here today in the presence of Mr Jiming who said this will be an opportunity for Indian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to set up their businesses in China.

To make it easier for the traders and the participants, Mr Jiming said special charter flights will be flying from Kolkata to Kunming and vice versa from June 4.

He also said regular flights from Kunming to Kolkata will start from July this year.
