CPI(M-L) protest, demand scrapping of SEZ laws
Jaipur, March 16 (UNI) CPI (M-L) activists here today held a protest condemning the police firing in West Bengal's Nandigram, which killed 14 farmers.
Party's central committee member Srilata Swaminathan, leading the protest said the Nandigram killings are a direct result of flawed SEZ policies.
The activists demanded resignation of the West Bengal Chief Minister, saying the Left Front has lost all moral rights to rule after this planned massacre, which was intended to teach Nandigram villagers a lesson.
Their demands included scrapping of the SEZ law in its present form as its clauses are against the freedom and sovereignty of the Country.
The party, which demonstrated at Civil Lines railway crossing, wanted a review of the SEZ policies that are being followed in Rajasthan where thousands of acres of agricultural land are being sold at throwaway prices to corporates.
