Court allows medical treatment to 2 blast convicts

Mumbai, Mar 16 (UNI) The TADA court today allowed medical treatment of two convicts involved in the blasts, which rocked the metropolis on March 12, 1993.

Designated TADA Judge P D Kode directed the Superintendent of the Arthur Road Jail to take Salim Durani and Noor Khan to the government-run J J Hospital for medical treatment.

Both Durani and Khan are in jail after they were convicted by the court under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act for participating in the conspiracy of the blasts and possessing deadly arms in the notified areas of the city.

The court has fixed April 19 as the date for awarding the final sentence to 100 convicts, including cine star Sanjay Dutt and members of the Memon family, who had masterminded the blasts.
