Cases of misuse of SEZ customs duty concessions detected

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) There were case of misuse of customs duty concessions provided to Special Economic Zones (SEZs), the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Finance S S Palanimanickam in a written reply said the highest misuse of customs duty concession was detected during 2003-04 which was to the tuneofRs 117.17 crores.

This however gradually declined to Rs 0.28 crores during 2006-07 upto February, 2007.
