Biman accuses Opposition of creating vandalism in Bengal
Kolkata, Mar 16 (UNI) Left Front Chairman Biman Bose charged the Opposition with indulging in mass vandalism throughout the state during the 12-hour statewide bandh to paralyse normal life.
Mocking at the Opposition claim of the bandh being a grand success, Mr Bose, also CPI(M) state secretary, said the Trinamool Congress, Congress, BJP and the SUCI went on a rampage all over the state to bring life to a halt by applying force, and now they were claiming that the bandh was spontaneous.
He also lambasted the Opposition for creating an "anarchy-like" situation in the name of bandh and taking recourse to destructive activities.
Mr Bose dismissed any impact of the bandh on the tea gardens and factories, which he said worked normally.
He alleged that the bandh supporters attacked the government offices, beat up the officers and workers, torched a CPI(M) party office in Howrah, prevented the government nurses from dispensing their duties and damaged two ambulances of Gabberia and Uluberia hospital.
Mr Bose called upon the people to be cautious against the "conspiracy" hatched by the Opposition to shatter the peace prevailing in the state and urged them to raise their voice against it.
"We should work unitedly towards economic uplift of the state and create a perfect atmosphere for it, " he stated.
