'Anonymous letter a 'Halla-bol' against judiciary' : BJP

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The BJP today took serious note of Supreme Court Judge A R Lakshmanan, refusing to hear the disproportionate assets case involving Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh in view of an anonymous letter received by him and alleged it was one more 'halla bol' against the judiciary.

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Kesri Nath Tripathi said the Samajwadi Party never liked anything independent and hence had declared an attack on the media, executive and the judiciary in the past, reminding that the S P workers, he said had entered the court room in Allahabad High Court in the past.

''It is heinous to send threatening letters to the Supreme Court judge with impeccable record about to demit his office,'' the BJP UP chief said reacting to Justice Lakshmanan, breaking down in the open court while hearing the review petition this morning after receiving an 'anonymous letter'.

Mr Tripathi, also a former Speaker of U P Assembly, said it was Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party MLAs who had let loose a reign of terror in the Assembly attacking the legislators at will.

"We can't have any post-poll understanding with these parties," was his reply when a reporter asked if his party would have an understanding with BSP or SP after elections.
