A businessman seriously injured in a looting incident
Bhuj, Mar 16 (UNI) An Industrialist received serious bullet injuries when some unidentified persons shot at him near Pashuda village and allegedly looted an amount of Rs eight lakh last evening.
Police sources said the victim Hiren Vinaykant Shah (29), who sustained five bullet injuries, is undergoing treatment at a Gandhidham based private hospital.
The incident occurred near Pasuda village at 1700 hrs, when the industrialist was passing by the area on his way to his Iron Factory located in Anjar Taluka of Bhuj District. He was carrying an amount of Rs eight lakhs withdrawn from a nearby bank to make payament to his factory workers.
Police sources said that the looters had blocked the road by putting tree branches. Mr Shah who was travelling alone got down from the car to clear the road. As soon as he got down, the looters fired at him using a country made revolver injuring him seriously.
Shah, who received serious bullet injuries, had become unconscious immediately after the incident. The looters fled away from the scene in his car along with the booty. The car was later found by the police in the village outskirt, sources said.
