95 nominations filed on day 4 for phase I of UP poll

Lucknow, Mar 16 (UNI) Altogether 95 nominations were filed today for the first phase of Uttar Pradesh elections for 62 assembly seats to be held on April 7.

Now, a total of 156 candidates are in fray for the first phase.

Of the nominations filed today, 15 belonged to the ruling Samajwadi Party, 27 of BSP, 24 of BJP and one of Congress.

No nomination was filed for the Bilaur Lok Sabha seat for which by-election would be held along with the first phase of polling.

March 20 is the last date of filing nominations and on the next day scrutiny of papers would be done. Candidiates can withdraw nomination till March 23.
