Uproar in Council over unaided education policy

Patna, Mar 15 (UNI) Acting chairman of Bihar legislative council Prof Arun Kumar adjourned the House for 15 minutes when Opposition members created uproar over the delay in withdrawal of the unaided education policy by the state government despite assurances.

Leader of the opposition Prof Ghulam Gaus raised the issue as the House assembled for the day and lamented at the pathetic condition of teachers of the affiliated colleges in the state due to unaided education policy.

He was joined by members of Congress, RJD, CPM, CPI and representatives of local bodies who also raised slogans in support of the demand.

Congress member Mahachandra Singh, RJD member Nawal Kishore Yadav, CPI member Kedar Pandey and CPM member Basudeo Singh trooped into the well raising slogans. Acting Chairman adjourned the House when his repeated attempts to restore order yielded no result.

When the House resumed, BJP member Giriraj Singh said there was no point in raising the issue again as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had detailed discussion with representatives of all political parties in this regard yesterday.

Acting chairman Arun Kumar appealed to the members to allow smooth transaction of business in the House as the Chief Minister was already seized with the matter.
