Two-day meet from tomorrow on Urban Renewal Mission
New delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) A two-day meet on 'Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission: Developing Inclusive Cities' will begin here tomorrow.
The meet organised by the Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Ministry will be attended by the Ministers-in-charge of Housing, Urban development, Municipal administration, Urban Poverty alleviation, Mayors, Municipal Commissioners and State Secretaries.
Besides, experts, representatives from internal organisations, industry association and civil society organisations will also participate in the deliberations.
Ministry sources said there will be four technical sessions,one each on Inclusive urban Planning and Infrastructure, Affordable Housing, Developing slum-free cities and Including the excluded.
The objective of the consultation to be attended by about 250 experts, is to mainstream the issues of urban poverty, slums, and inclusive development in policies and programmes at Centre, State and local levels.
During the conference, Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja would also launch a website of National strategy for the Urban Poor Project.
