Parapet collapse claims eight lives
Ara, Mar 15 (UNI) Eight people, including five children, were killed and 40 others injured when a building's parapet collapsed during a wedding ceremony at Amaruhan village under Chauri police station in Bhojpur district last night, an official today said.
District magistrate Bishwanath Singh said the parapet collapsed as the roof of the bulding was over-crowded.
The injured were rushed to Sadar hospital near here, police said.
A team of doctors and paramedical staff was also sent to the village for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the district administration officials, who have arrived at the site, have announced compensation for the kins of the victims.
