Lukewarm response to Magadh bandh call
Jehanabad, Mar 15 (UNI) The proscribed CPI(Maoist)-sponsored dawn-to-dusk ''Magadh bandh'' passed off peacefuly, evoking a lukewarm response today.
The bandh was called to protest the custodial death of a Maoist leader.
Official reports here said, all shops and business estblishments remained open and three wheelers, long distance buses and trucks were plying on roads as usual.
Movement of trains remained unaffected and educational institutions and government offices registered normal attendance.
The administration had made elaborate security arrangements to foil the Maoist's call for bandh and additional contingents of District Armed Police (DAP), Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) and CRPF were deployed to meet any eventualities.
