LS adjourned till 1200 hrs over Nandigram incident

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was today adjourned for an hour as tempers ran high in the house over the Nandigram incident with agitated members of the Left and the Opposition shouting at each other.

The day's sitting was greeted by slogan-shouting by BJP-led Opposition members during the question hour, leading to chaos in the Lower House.

When Leader of Opposition in the House L K Advani sought to raise the issue of the police firing in Nandigram in which 12 people were killed yesterday, members of the Left and the Congress from West Bengal were on their feet, loudly expressing their objections.

However, Deputy Speaker Chiranjit Singh Atwal, who was in the chair, allowed Mr Advani to make a submission on the incident.

When Mr Advani was about to speak, the Left members again created noisy scenes, forcing the chair to adjourn the House for an hour till 1200 hrs.
