Kerala Folklore fellowship, award announced
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 15 (UNI) Kerala Cultural Minister M A Baby today announced the Kerala Folklore Academy fellowship and awards.
Malayala Manorama Assistant Editor Paul Manail's book 'Keralathile Bhashanunapakshangal' was chosen the best book. He will receive a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
The three fellowships were shared by Podikkalam Parambil Kannan Peruvannan (Theyyam), Ustad A V Ahammad Kutty Master (Daft mutt) and P P Madhava Panicker (Marathukali), Mr Baby said.
Twentyfive artistes would be honoured with folklore awards in their respective fields.
P Koran of Kannur will be honoured, posthumously, in recognition of his contribution to the folklore field.
The fellowship contains Rs 10,000 and the award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000. The awards would be presented on March 27.
