Chandigarh, Mar 15 (UNI) The Haryana government will urge the CBI to expedite its probe in the disproportionate assets case against former chief minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo Om Prakash Chautala and his family members.

''We will write to the CBI to complete the probe at the earliest and take action against the guilty,'' Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda assured the state assembly today in response to the concern shown by several members in this regard during the Question Hour.

He said the government would convey the ''sentiments of the House'' to the investigating agency.

Mr Hooda clarified that the government did not believe in ''politics of vendetta'' and therefore it had referred the case from the State Vigilance Bureau to the independent agency.

In a written reply to a question by S S Surjewala, he however said no time schedule about the probe could be given by the state government as the cases were being investigated by the Central agency.

He also denied that the Haryana government had constituted any team of state officers to assist the CBI for collection of evidence in these cases.
