Four times Congress MLA resigns from party

Balasore, Mar 15 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and four time MLA from Soro Assembly constituency of Orissa Kartik Mohapatra today resigned from the party.

Mr Mohapatra who was also elected to Lok Sabha in 1997 from Balsore seat submitted his resignation letter to party president Jaydev Jena. He was also orissa's revenue Minister in 1996 The senior Congress leader when contacted said he has not cited any reason in his resignation letter.

Mr Mohapatra's decision to quit the party came in the wake of the party's decision to expel one of his strong supporter Girish Das who was recently elected as Balsore Zilla Parishad President post as rebel Congress candidate.
