Fight against militancy will continue in J and K, police chief

Srinagar, Mar 15 (UNI) Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police Gopal Sharma today said fight against the militancy will continue till the restoration of total normalcy in the state.

However, he cautioned the police personnel to be extra careful during the counter-insurgency operation so that the innocents do not feel harassed.

Speaking at a darbar held with the police personnel in District Police Line at Ganderbal today, he said restoration of total peace in the state was the first priority for the police and other security agencies.

He said fight against the militants will continue if they do not give up the arms and join the national mainstream.

Mr Sharma said no Human Rights violations would be tolerated and those who will cross their limits during the counter insurgency operations will have to face the law of the land.

The police chief also visited Police Training School, Manigam, where police personnel are being trained.
