Electrotherm launches 'No petrol' bikes in Eastern India
Kolkata, Mar 15 (UNI) Electrotherm (India) Ltd, a Gujarat base company, today launched its 'No-Petrol Y0bykes, in West Bengal, Orissa and other eastern states.
The Company manufactures battery operated electric two-wheelers that run on batteries and does not require petrol.
YObykes are battery-operated, economical, zero pollution two wheelers based on electrical technology, where the rechargeable battery replaces the conventional engine, a company release here said.
These bikes could be charged as easily as a mobile phone wherever electric power connection is available, the release added.
Moreover, the rider did not require a license and registration to ride these bikes.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Director-Operations, Electrotherm (India) Ltd, Avinash Bhandari said, ''It is the technology to empower the masses and give them a value-for-money two wheeler.'' He also claimed that the YObykes have achieved a sales of over 25,000 'No Petrol' bikes since its launch in February 2006 in Gujarat.
YObykes have five models all priced between Rs 29,000. However, the prices might vary marginally across states due to VAT and transportation cost.
