EC announces new appointments
Lucknow, Mar 15 (UNI) Mr G L Sharma will be the new director general of police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh while Mr K Chandramauli will be the Principal Secretary (Home).
According to sources, Mr Sharma, present DG Homeguards, will take the place of Mr Bua Singh who was removed along with seven other officials by the Election Commission yesterday.
Mr Chandramauli, the new Principal secretary (Home) will take the place of Mr S K Agarwal.
Sources said Mr J S Deepak will be the new commissioner of Meerut while Mr Chandrabhan will be the district magistrate of Etah.
Mr Madhukar Dwivedi has been posted to DM Saharanpur while SSP Lucknow Rajiv Krishan has been shifted to the same capacity in Meerut.
The new appointments were made after an approval from the EC tonight, sources said.
Mr Atul will be the new ADG (Law and Order) while Mr Javed will be the new IG Kanpur zone.
The EC has already made four new postings and appointed V K Maurya DIG (Meerut range) who replaced Shailendra Pratap Singh.
Special Secretary (Home) Kamal Saxena would be the new DIG (Agra range), replacing Akhilesh Mehrotra.
Ajay Mohan Sharma has been made SP (city) Ghaziabad, while Virendra Bahadur Singh Additional SP (Lakhimpur Kheri), replacing Bharat Singh Yadav.
The EC has also directed the state government not to post the removed officials in the particular districts, where they were posted nor engage them in any poll-related work.
