Arms dump of Naxalites unearthed in Nallamala Forest
Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 15 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Naxal Police unearthed a huge arms dump of the CPI Maoist in the dense Nallamala Forest, the hub of the naxal activity in this district.
According to police sources, the dump consisted of about 500 rockets, rocket launchers and diaries with crucial information on naxal operations, among other things.
The seizure was made following the recent arrest of a Maoist leader.
Police said, the naxalities had recently transported rockets from Tamil Nadu by private trucks owned by reputed transport companies.
The police had traced them upto Macharla town before losing track of them.
It may be recalled that Naxalites had launched a rocket attack on 'Durgi' police station in this district, last year.
