Unseasonal rainfall halts in MP
Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) Unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm lashed northern Madhya Pradesh last night but the weather was clear in most parts of the state today.
Unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm lashed the state's northern and north-eastern part in the past two days killing 17 people in rain-related incidents and causing heavy damage to crops.
In Sagar district, 29 villages were affected, whereas wheat and gram crops suffered damages in Shivpuri district, where 1.5 dozen birds also died.
Regional meteorological department spokesperson predicted weather would remain dry in the next 24 hours.
Overnight rainfall was maximum in Datia (3 cm), followed by Jabalpur (2), Satna (2) and Gwalior (1). Rainfall also occurred at isolated places in Sagar, Hoshangabad and Bhopal divisions.
A slight drop in temperature was recorded courtesy the change in weather. The state capital witnessed a cloudy sky.
Indore recorded a maximum of 31.2 degree Celisus, Gwalior 25.3 deg C, Satna 27.7 deg C and Rewa 30 deg C.
