School books sold as scrap: Cong leader
New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Books meant to be distributed under the Centre's ambitious Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan are being sold as scrap in Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader V Narayanasamy today alleged.
During zero hour in the Rajya Sabha, he said centrally-sponsored schemes are being misused by the states and the tendency must be checked.
Mr Narayanasamy was joined by BJP leader Sushma Swaraj who said books for Urdu and Marathi classes were sold for Rs 2 per kg in collusion with teachers who have now been suspended.
