NAPM condemns killing of villagers in Nandigram

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) National Alliance of People's Movements today condemned the killing of at least 12 people when police opened fire to disperse violent villagers in Nandigram in East Midnapore district of West Bengal.

''This brutal attack must be condemned and CPM must be compelled to stop murdering farmers immediately,'' a NAPM statement said here.

''Such state fascism and corporate war against people can't and must not be tolerated.'' The state government with the help of CPM cadres had launched a ''war'' against the people of Nandigram, it added.

Fifty people were also injured, many of them seriously, in the incident.
