Govt holds high level discussions with APSRTC unions
Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI)The Andhra Pradesh Government today held an high level meeting with the union leaders of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on threat of the employees' proposed strike on the issue of the private transport operations in the state.
Working President of the National Mazdoor Union M Nageswsara Rao and General Secretary Syed Mahamood after their meeting with Transport Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and Commercial Taxes Minister K Ramakrishan said the government had decided to take action against the Private operators.
They said the government had also given assurance to regularise the services of casual Conductors and Drivers and take a decision in one or two weeks.
The RTC was loosing Rs 1,000 crore and the government Rs 75 crore in view of the operation of private bus services in the state.
They said it was a cordial meeting and expressed the hope that the government would take all steps to save the APSRTC and control private bus services.
They said another round of meeting would be held here tomorrow with the State Chief Secrtarty J Harinarayana and other officials on the same issue.
