Daler Mehndi case adjourned to April 17
Patiala, Mar 14 (UNI) Noted Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi today appeared in a local court, which is trying a case of ''human trafficking'' registered against him.
The court adjourned the case to April 17.
The local police had registered a case under various sections of the IPC and the Indian Passport Act on September 19, 2003 at the Sadar police station here on the complaint of Bakhshish Singh of Balbehra village.
In his complaint, Bakhshish Singh along with 24 other complainants had alleged that Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Mehndi took money from them with the promise of taking them abroad as members of their singing and dancing troupes.f They alleged the Mehndi brothers also failed to return their money to them and instead threatened them not to make the matter public.
