Dacoits strike at 5 villages in Dharwad
Dharwad, Karnataka, Mar 14 (UNI) An armed dacoits gang went on a looting spree at five villages in Dharwad taluk in this district of Karnataka, assaulting six people and relieving them of their cash and gold ornaments, from last night till early today.
Police said the dacoits, numbering eight and armed with axes and lathis, first struck at a field in Kotdagi village and assualted one Fakirappa and his wife, who were harvesting there, before looting their cash and gold ornaments.
The culprits, conversing in Kannada, then went to the other villages, attacking everyone who came on their way and snatching their ear rings.
Senior police officials visited the villages. The six injured were admitted to the Dharwad district hospital.
