Case filed against two on Chappel visit: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) The Kerala Assembly was informed today that a case has been registered against a houseboat owner and another person for suppressing information about the recent four-day visit of Indian Cricket team Coach Greg Chappel to Alapuzha.

In a written reply, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the case had been registered under Section 7(1)(4)-14 of the Foreigners Act.

Chappel stayed at a houseboat for three days from February 21 and also visited the house of paceman Sreesanth.

According to sources, though it was a private visit, the houseboat owners had to furnish details of the trip of a foreigner on the prescribed format at the nearest station.

His visit came to police's notice by an auto-rickshaw driver.
