BJP for judicial or par probe into Nandigram firing
New Delhi, Mar 14: The BJP today demanded a judicial orParliamentary inquiry into the killing of at least four people andinjuries to 100 protesters in the Nandigram Special Economic Zonepolice firing in West Bengal.
Holding WB Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee responsible forinept handling, BJP President Rajnath Singh in a statement saidsituation seemed to go out of control.
The WB government has no respect for farmers and their sentimentsand is resorting to curb the protests through police firing. Thisadministration, he said, has no moral authority to continue. He said adelegation of the BJP would visit the troubled spot to soothe thefeelings of the aggrieved families and report back to the party.
He said it was ironic that at a time when people were 'dyingdisillusioned' of the 'Industralisation Concept' in Nandigram, MrBhattacharjee was announcing the Singur- Tata project in the stateassembly. "This exposes real face of CPI-M towards farmers", he said.
