Assembly adjourned over compensation to rain-hit farmers
Jaipur, Mar14 (UNI) Rajasthan Assembly witnessed noisy scenes over compensation to rain-hit farmers and has been adjourned twice today.
Question Hour could not be conducted amid the din as Opposition legislators continued to shout slogans.
As Speaker Sumitra Singh took her seat, Opposition legislators started slogan shouting.
In the ruckus that followed, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria alleged that farmers were not compensated adequately during Congress regime but the BJP government is making every possible effort to help the farmers.
In the midst of chaos, the Speaker welcomed Norway's parliamentary delegation, who had come to watch the House proceedings.
But as the shouting continued, Mrs Singh adjourned the House till 12 o'clock. Later as the House reassembled, the proceedings could not continue and the Speaker had to adjourn the House for another half an hour.
