Two witnesses file intervention application in Khwaja Yunus case
Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) In a new twist to the Sayyad Khwaja Yunus case, an accused in the Ghatkopar BEST bomb blasts case of 2002, two State CID witnesses today filed intervention applications in the Bombay High Court, alleging they were offered Rs five lakh each and jobs in the Gulf by State CID officer Jafferbhai and made to talk to Director General of Police Dr P S Pasricha, who in turn asked them to support Jafferbhai.
Abdul Karim Khan and Ayaz Ahmed, both residing in Mumbai, in their application said: ''A person named Wahid Ali had taken both of them to Pune and introduced them to Jafferbhai. There they were told they were to give statements before the High Court that they had witnessed the alleged killing and disposal of an innocent person's body at the hands of certain police officials.'' The witnesses also alleged that Jafferbhai assured nothing would happen to them as the move was supported by highly placed police officials.
