Tripartite talks btwn Pricol

Coimbatore, Mar 13: The tripartite talks held at the instance of Joint Commissioner for Labour (JCL) to sort out the dispute between a private company, Pricol and their workers yesterday, was postponed to March 22.

The employees of the company went on strike eight days ago demanding the withdrawal of transfer orders issued to six employees to Uttaranchal by the management.

The company, manufacturing auto meters, auto components and dash boards has eight units in the country, which includes four in Coimbatore, one in Pune, two in Uttaranchal and one in Maneswar.

The company managment had transferred six workers from the Main unit here to Uttranchal as they tried to start one more labour union.

Protesting the transfer order, all the 2,660 employees, including 400 women went on an idenfinite strike eight days ago. However, the management had not withdrwn their transfer orders.

Management sources told sources that though the normal prouction had came to a standstill initially, the production now had touched 60 per cent of the normal production with the help of casual workers here.
