Telephone booths on railway platforms to be returned to the disable

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) In a swift decision, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today ordered that the phone booths on the railway platforms run by the physically challenged be returned to them immediately.

The order came in response to Congress member P J Kurien's plea that the disable should be returned their telephone booths which were forcibly taken away from them by the authorities.

Mr Kurien had threatened to go on a dharna over the issue.

Participating in the discussion over railway budget, Mr Kurien said about a dozen representatives of the oustees met him this morning and urged an immediate action in this regard.

Assuring necessary steps, Mr Prasad said, ''I will enquire into the matter.'' UNI
