SP denies filing review petition in Mulayam's D A case

Lucknow, Mar 13 (UNI) The ruling Samajwadi Party today denied that a review petition has been filed before the Supreme Court on its recent judgement on the case relating to alleged disproportionate assets of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and his kin.

SP general secretary Amar Singh denied that a review petition has been filed. ''Today, we had filed a clarification request before the apex court...the court said since no clarification request could be filed in a SC judgement, we would soon file a review petition,'' he explained.

The Supreme Court had recently directed the CBI to look into the disproportionate assets of Uttar Pradesh CM.

The PIL alleges that Mr Yadav and his family members have amassed wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.

It was filed by ''social activist'' Vishwanath Chaturvedi, who has in his petition, attached sale deed copies of properties that Mr Yadav and his sons had purchased in the last 28 years during which he was in public life.
