Rehab and Industrial Policy of J'khand this month: Deputy CM
Ranchi, Mar 13 (UNI) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Sudhir Mahto today said the government will come out with new industrial and rehabilitation policy this month to attract investments.
Replying to a short hour question raised by opposition member Radhakrishna Kishore, Mr Mahto said the government had signed MOU's with 20 industrial houses for proposed Rs 1.64 lakh crore investment in 2005-06. Around Rs 3344.88 crore were invested by them till January 2007.
In another matter raised by Saryu Rai, Mr Mahto said about 102 iron ore crushers were located in the Nowamundi and Jamda areas in Saranda forest division in west Singhbhum district.
Mr Mahto said out of them 55 had air-permission, matter of 13 were under consideration, eight were closed, three were under construction and FIR was registered against the 20 iron-ore crushers for violating the norms.
The Deputy Chief Minister, also in-charge of forest and environment department, said stern action would be taken against the officials found gulity for functioning for the illegal crushers.
