INLD creates furore in Assembly
Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) The INLD members today created furore in the Haryana Assembly, leading to adjournment of the House twice, in protest against the Speaker's refusal to allow their leader Om Prakash Chautala extended time during the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address.
Even as Speaker Raghubir Singh Kadian finally allowed Mr Chautala extended time to speak in the discussion, the INLD MLAs staged a walkout over the Speaker's decision to name one of their fellow members for disrupting the proceedings.
The Speaker first adjourned the House for ten minutes and then again for five minutes when INLD members came to the well of House and raised anti-government slogans.
They were demanding that the Speaker grant Mr Chautala's request for more time as he could not complete his speech yesterday due to frequent interruptions by members of the treasury benches.
The Speaker ruled that Mr Chautala was given enough time yesterday and urged the Opposition members to resume their seats and maintain calm in the House. His appeal, however, fell on deaf ears.
As the INLD members continued slogan shouting, the Speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes.
