Jehanabad, Mar 13 (UNI) A high alert has been sounded in Jehanabad and Arwal districts of Bihar following the bandh call by the proscribed CPI (Maoist) in Magadh region on March 15.

The bandh was called to protest the death of an activist of the organisation in police custody in Gaya.

Police said here today that massive combing operation had been launched in both districts to flush out the Maoists, while security personnel were deputed to ensure foolproof security to vital installations.

Steps had been taken to ensure the smooth movement of trains on Patna-Gaya section under Danapur rail division, the police added.

A maoist was arrested on March six at Khaira village under Konch police station in Gaya district and he died in police custody the next day.

The deceased was wanted in connection with Bara and Senari carnage.
