HC directs TDB to remove hoardings from temple compounds

Kochi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to remove the hoardings located inside the temple compounds.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice K S Radhakrishnan and Justice M N Krishnan observed that exhibits of advertisements inside the temple compounds were violating the sentiments of the devotees and their beliefs.

The bench issued this direction while considering a writ petition filed by M G Rajesh Kumar from Thiruvalla.

The petitioner had sought a direction against the TDB not to permit fixing of hoardings and flex boards with commercial advertisements inside the compound walls and premises of temples.
