Gandhinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) Gujarat has decided to double the financial outlay for the eleventh Five Year Plan (year 2007-12) with special focus on the agricultural, services and education sectors.

''We have submitted a proposal to the National Planning Commission to spend Rs 100,000 crore in the Eleventh Plan, as against the Rs 47,000 crore outlay in the Tenth Plan period,'' Gujarat Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala told UNI.

The Minister said these sectors would generate lakhs of jobs and are expected to achieve a higher GDP for the state.

''We plan to achieve a much better growth in the Eleventh Plan as compared to the national GDP,'' the Minister said, adding that the state could raise finances through private partnership also.

'Gujarat is probably the only state which has attained its targetted outlay of Rs 47,000-Cr for the 10th Plan,'' Mr Vala claimed.
